I just caught wind of this forum yesterday. Heavy commercial is my favorite modeling subject, and this looks like a great place to share it. I recognize a few names here, so I recon some will remember mine. I started out by butchering models in high school (mid '70s), and learned to build some worth keeping. And have never really stopped since then. I'm currently working on my most ambitious project ever, and will post pix of it as soon as I get some time to sit down and compose it here. Here's a couple of my builds. I'll probably post threads on these and others as well, but for now: Dodge Service Truck Paystar 6x6 Much more to follow. But SO MUCH to see here first! Dan S

Welcome to the club. Nice builts you have, I really like that dodge. How did you get the working front suspension? That looks pretty cool. Mike

Hey Dan, welcome. Those are sharp builds there. That Dodge is cool, did you scratch the bed and crane?

Wow, what a reception! ;D To answer a couple questions, the Dodge's front suspension is scratchbuilt coil spring with triangle control arms. The rear is working leaf spring made from styrene strips, as developed by another forum member "Modeljeeper". The service box and crane are scratchbuilt.(Scratchbuilding those service boxes is quite easy) The box has working outriggers using magnets. I'll post a thread later. That Dodge is the most involved plastic 'bash I have ever built.
The Paystar has working rear equalized suspension. I'll post that how-to also. It's 5:22AM and past my bed time for now!
Thanks for the responses. Dan
