Hi and "Happy New Year" everyone, learned about this forum recently through r766st. Built a lot of "glue bombs" as a youngster, have become active in the hobby again after 20+ years away from model trucks. Recognize a few names from a couple other boards.
Have a couple projects on the go currently and a (large) number of "pending" ones!

Thanks for the "heads up". Prototype photo is from Paul Kane's collection on Hanks Truck Pictures, taken in 1998 IIRC. Model is one of the "current projects" using Monogram's 1/32 Snap-Tite Mack R as the starting point:

Thanks everyone! Yes, guess I was a little s-l-o-w getting here Ray! Quite pleased with how nice the die work was on this "snap kit", biggest hurdle yet to overome is the lettering. Tried printing my own decals, yellow on a dark blue truck turned out to be far too transparent. Going to try individual dry tansfers for permit numbers (onto clear decal paper first, then onto truck like a regular decal) but door logo is still an issue. Will start a thread in the "under construction" category to show some progress photos.

Hi Rob. Glad to see you made it here to the group. You did a great job on this model. It is a dead ringer. You showed us that these kits can be turned into a work of art. As for the lettering. I have done the dry transfer letters on clear decal film and it work well. Another thing you can try is to paint the graphics and letters on clear decal film them put them on the model like a regular decal. I have done it in the past it is a little more delicate than dry transfers but it works.
Lance.

Thanks everyone, I have a couple more of those 1/32 kits on the shelf for future projects once this one (and a lot of other projects!) are completed.

Pretty sweet replica. Before reading, I thought that it was the 1/25 truck, haha.
